- In cities across the US, many of our Chiver firefighters participated in 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs. Here are just a few of the submissions I received from Chivers last night…

- Last November, Leo, myself, and Erin Willett visited the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero. Ten years later, the sense of loss was still palpable, everywhere you step echoed of the loved and lost…
-
- Erin Willett lost her uncle, Gerald Michael Olcott, when the second plane crashed into WTC 1. Erin watched it all on TV.
-
- Visiting the 9-11 Memorial also reminded me of the resilience of the American spirit. There is a rebirth happening now in downtown New York City. Families have moved back into the area, new businesses has taken root. Freedom Tower grows higher each day, now ascending above the NY skyline. Life flourishes around Ground Zero sending the strongest message off all to the terrorists who tried to defeat our spirit, you’ve lost.
Today is the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Let’s give pause to remember those who sacrificed their lives that day; the 2,977 victims, including 246 on four planes and the 343 brave FDNY firefighters who ran into danger to help others escape and our service men and women who continue to protect our freedom abroad today.
Thank you. We will never forget,
The Chivers.
