Earlier today we launched a story about
Sean Pesce, an Army Ranger who was shot 13 times and lived. Finally
able to return home after a year of rehab, his parents home was in need
of a wholesale retrofitting to their home to accommodate Sean’s special
needs.
After multiple fundraising campaigns the family found themselves $15,000 short of their goal. Today, theCHIVE Fund announced a $30,000 gift to Sean to not only complete construction on the home, but to also provide funds for Sean’s medical needs moving forward.

And that was pretty much that… until it wasn’t. I had provided a link to Sean’s GoFundMe page in the footer of the story and theCHIVERS decided they would take the $20,000 goal and flog it until it broke.
A simple link I placed as an afterthought suddenly caught fire. In an
hour, you had put the $20,000 goal in your rear view mirror and are
currently about to eclipse the $30,000 mark in addition to the $30,000
theCHIVE fund already contributed separately to the family.
Unbelievable.
theCHIVE has now firmly established itself as the kindest, most
generous community on the internet. Gail Pesce, Sean’s awesome mother,
is currently at a loss for words but wanted me to give a huge thanks to
Chive Nation for changing Sean’s life for the better in minutes flat.
Well done, Chivers, you did it again.
