Widdy's revenge! Harshest critic Craig Revel Horwood forces a smile as he turns support act on live tour

For ten weeks, he criticised and chastised her in front of the nation, describing her dancing as a ‘disaster’.

But Ann Widdecombe has finally got her revenge.

The 63-year-old former politician has been partnered with Craig Revel Horwood for the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, which started yesterday.

And while Ann looked utterly delighted to be back in her dance shoes, the fixed smile on Craig's face was all too clear to see.

The two were paired together for this year's Strictly Come Dancing tour which starts tonight in Nottingham.

And today they practiced their moves ahead of this evening's performance, and despite Craig's obvious apprehension, he started to look like he was rather enjoying himself.

Ann, in a bright blue tasselled dress, and Craig, looking smart in an evening suit, practiced the samba.

They are joined on the tour by winner Kara Tointon, Pamela Stephenson, Tina O'Brien, Patsy Kensit, Ricky Whittle and Jimi Mistry.

When Craig and Anne were first paired together, she said: 'I am very much looking forward to dancing with Craig, after all the rude remarks he has made.'

He added: 'Ann is a good sport, I can't wait to get my hands on her, and create a fabulous routine which people will talk about for many years to come.'

But he wasn't so kind during the last series of the BBC talent show and was constantly giving her scores as low as one or two, hoping she might go week after week.

He famously gave her only one mark out of ten for her salsa routine and leaving her with the lowest score in Strictly Come Dancing history – just 12 out of 40.

However, she refused to let it get her down, saying: ‘I know that I was not the best dancer in the competition, but I know that my doing it has made other people realise they can.’

The self-confessed 'dancing elephant' finally went in the tenth week of the show and admitted it was right for viewers to vote her off.

And despite vowing that would 'never dance again', she happily signed up to the tour which begins at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena on 14 January and ends on February 13 in Glasgow.
